The Hunter collection is traditional and essential for hunter riders who want a discreet helmet. All aspects of the Hunter helmets are entirely made of alcantara and available in three colors: blue, grey, and black, with details to match the colors.
Customising your Antarès helmet
If you wish, you can change the colors of the strap, the headband, and the triangle of this model to have a unique helmet. In its classic version, its elements are chrome. It’s up to you to choose your helmet customization colors according to your desires! We have written a blog post on helmet customization to help you do it easily.
Composition of your Hunter riding helmet
The shell
The outer shell of the helmet is made of ABS. Its role is to disperse the impact energy across the surface of the helmet. When your helmet hits an object, the shell distributes the shock wave by dissipating it. Rigid and lightweight, it is known for its high resistance to scratches.
The inner foam
Made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), it absorbs the energy emitted by the impact by retracting. The inner foam becomes much denser. Its density varies according to the sizes of our helmets. To see the effects of an impact on the inner foam, check out our blog post.
Ventilation
Its 4 front vents and 2 rear extractors provide good air circulation. Thus, thermal regulation is improved.
The retention system
The harness ensures the helmet stays securely on the rider’s head. It consists of 3 points. The Y-shaped fastening system has points that are further apart, reducing the helmet’s rotation. The straps are made of nylon and the buckles are POM.
Bonus: the Antarès harnesses are made from leather scraps from our bespoke saddles. Aesthetic and responsible!

Helmet padding
In contact with the rider’s head, the high-quality foams allow for a perfect fit of your riding helmet and optimal comfort. Whether your head shape is round or oval, they will conform to your shape. Removable, these internal pads can be regularly taken out and cleaned to maintain the helmets hygiene. Made in Italy, they are breathable, OEKO-TEX® certified, and washable by hand in warm water.
The foams are sold with the helmet.
Our riding helmets are handmade in our workshop in Saintes. We present their creation process.
The standard visor
The European standard EN1384-2017 requires the visor to flex when a load is applied to it. This is to prevent it from breaking and injuring the rider. The visor of the Antarès helmets is therefore intentionally flexible. In case of deformation, it can be manually reshaped to restore its original form.
The helmet bag is ideal for protecting and transporting your helmet easily. It is designed down to the finest details, with a large central pocket and a big zipper to make it easy to store the helmet.
Equestrian helmet safety
The riding helmet is crucial for the safety of every rider, regardless of their level. All our models have CE marking and SEI certification. They have successfully passed the EN1384-2017 / VG1 01.040 2014-12 standards.
Please pay particular attention to your helmet. As demonstrated by our impact tests, the safety of your helmet is no longer optimal if the inner foam has retracted. And this even without visible signs of a fall. This is why it is necessary to replace your riding helmet after an impact.
We recommend replacing the helmet no later than 5 years after the purchase date, even in the absence of an impact or damage.
